Built in 1731 Chateau Charron's 26 hecates are situated on the right bank of the Gironde, facing Medoc. The wine comprises 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and although it's not oak aged (hence the price!) the tannins are nonetheless supple and neatly frame the cedar-tinged plum and cassis fruit.
