Falanghina is one of the myriad indigenous grape varieties that make the Italian wine scene so exciting. Native pretty much exclusively to the ‘heel’ of Southern Italy this is a zippy, delectable alternative to (yet another!) bland Pinot Grigio. Grown in the Irpinian foothills overlooking the Bay of Naples (so named because of the wolves – irpina - that used to roam here) this is delicious all year round, on its own or with a fishy nibble. Get read for some intriguing flavours, including kumquat, orange water and melon!
