Ross Sleet launched Rascallion in 2018 with the aim of creating a collection of brands that were daring, unconventional, and centred on blends inspired by his travels in Southern France and the Iberian peninsula. Rascallion is wholly (and unashamedly) a négociant business, which leaves Ross and his consultant winemaker Rianie Strydom able to freely source wine to incredibly exacting standards and specifications, from Stellenbosch, the Swartland, Darling, Robertson and Piekenierskloof.
But whilst the wines are technically brilliant don’t expect a barrage of viti/vini specifications, as Ross puts it, “we want to change the conversation, not bombard consumers with history, terroir and jargon. Our role is to make wines for pure, unequivocal enjoyment.”

mono-varietal wines that celebrate South Africa’s key cultivars in an evocative, art deco presentation; Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage Rose, Pinotage and Cabernet Sauvignon. A portion of the sales price of every bottle supports Dignity Dreams ( an NGO that provides comfort and menstrual health to young women and girls from disadvantaged and at risk communities in South Africa and Africa.
